And now for my dorky side...
This will not be new to folks who enjoy text-based games. But being the graphics whore that I am I'm all over this new user-generated game called "Spore." It allows you to create anything you can imagine and then the game works out the physics of how it functions in the world. Brought to you by the good people at Sims. Make sure to check out the interview with the designer if you're into gaming theory. Deleuze and Guattari anyone? Pass. Just fork over the game. I don't have time to look it up on my trusty 'ole gaming sites until chapter 1 of The Thing From Hell is done...
Speaking of gaming, I couldn't get to sleep easily last night, so I popped in a disc from season 1 of Lost to help me nod off. I watched a Sayid episode ("Greater Good" methinks) and I noticed the terrorists in Sydney were playing Half Life...possibly the "They Hunger" mod. Not only were they playing it, but the dialogue clearly shows that whoever wrote that episode had a pretty damn good knowledge of the game's most annoying feature...the necessity for preserving ammo. They had a short conversation that went something like this:
"IRAQI" TERRORIST 1: I'm out of ammo.
"IRAQI" TERRORIST 2: Okay, use the crowbar instead.
"IRAQI" TERRORIST 1: Man, that only works on the zombies.
Faux Terrorists + Half Life = I don't know what it equals, but it's funny as hell.
And speaking of Lost, I'm going to throw a little love around after this week's season finale which JJ Abrams promised won't be as schisty as last season's. In his words, "because a lot of people got really mad at us." Yeah, that, and you lost a lot of viewers, JJ.
As I burn sage and return to my shiny happy zen-feng-shui-crystal-chanting place...
If I'm not too annoyed with the finale, then stay tuned for the Wepa Woman Season 2 awards that will include such categories as:

hayzil did you know your country dissolved parliament and called for an election this June instead of in 2007? Or am I just stupendously behind on Kuwaiti events? Yeah, I'm stupendously behind on Kuwaiti events. Wait a minute, what is a "Kuwaiti Event"? Is it like when bareedy chirps, "Go to the back, and then talk to me when you find the right tire"
