[Walker Count: 2] ☣ Family Matters

[1445 Mitchell Road | Open to family or neighbors]

Well. That certainly wasn't expected. Within an hour of the phone call a roasted turkey had arrived at the front door without all the trimmings. Lori had always been the chef in the family with Rick helping where he could. Odd hours kept him on the go more so than he cared to admit being a Sheriff's Deputy, so there were a few things he did know how to make. Few being the key word.

His not!son was somewhere either upstairs or in town, he hadn't really made any connections with people there in the town himself yet- not due to anyone's fault but his own. He had to make sure the place was actually safe first before allowing himself to become even remotely attached to people. Not when there was a chance of Walkers showing themselves again even there.

But looking at that turkey as it sat on the kitchen table he was pretty damn sure neither he or Eridan could eat all that without it spoiling. Then there was the fact that eating turkey sandwiches for days in a row could make anyone sick... Maybe trying to freeze some of it would be a better option or seeing if a neighbor with a larger house could use some of it. So, with keys in hand, Rick stepped out the side door making his way to his neighbors houses to see if anyone would like to either join them for dinner or needed more of the rather delicious looking bird for their own households.

[Phone Conversations! | Open to everyone!]

All right. So- I may not be th' best cook in the world, generally my wife reserves that title, but seein' how she isn't here I guess I gotta do my best. Eridan and I got this turkey like everyone else, but I was wondering if anyone would like to join us for dinner? It's been months since I got to celebrate a holiday with anyone, and with everything goin' on back home, probably never will again.

If anyone would like just head over to 1445 Mitchell Street. We'll gladly set you a place.

[Around town: At the market | Open to everyone!]

The drone wife always kept the fridge full, but there was just some things that Rick didn't trust her to pick up. Lori had taught him the ways of shopping for proper fresh veggies at the local market for when she couldn't go and while it got him teased at work for it, Rick didn't care. It was one skill that he was going to be able to use without her being there. Inwardly he winced at the thought wishing she and Carl could be there too. For a lot of reasons the Deputy felt horrible for him being there and not then. He'd glad trade places with them just to know they were safe even if Mayfield was a little on the strange side.

Pushing the cart down one of the isles he eyed the boxed cake mixes with a wary eye. Did he really want to try baking something? Well it would be a nice treat for Eridan seeing how he hadn't had a living, non-drone living in the house for a while...
