Why isn't there a statue of Allen Ginsberg in Paterson?
He had a lot of of drug-inspired moments but he kept searching
He should have a monument that can't be torn down
It must have been cool to be in India in the early 1960's
why was he so obsessed with death
watching the burnt dead bodies pushed into the Ganges?
maybe it was the joy of the relatives
that reveled a esoteric trust that
the unknown was good
spirituality is believing in that something that defies all sense
the smell of decay indicates finality-offensive and vile-
it does not encourage hope of eternity
yet in so many cultures there is this belief
based perhaps on the reality of unexplained phenomenon
So we go, imagining floating eunuchs
greeting us to a world
devoid of all sorrows
Somehow suffering now has its purpose
those masochistic moments
where a rehashing of every wound inflicted
must be replayed
indignities of infidelity interspersed with love-making and presents
unrealized babies of opportunism
yet somehow feeling emotions so deeply
should not be avoided as it has great value
if only for creating compassion for others in this temporal moment on Earth
Past ego or god-envy
to put a cap in the back of experience
to rise above the negativity and point to eternity in...
the shadow of the waning sun on the dirty glass
of the guinea pig home
incapsulate baleful sound of the ball-bearing in the water bottle
I will fit some guineau pig cuddle-time
and buttery orange yam sharing into my day
eagerly expecting a puppy
we are a happy family
seal it up for eternity
