Chapters: 2/3 Cliffhanger: Oh, wow! There are cliffhangers and there are cliffhangers, and this was a cliffhanger!
Things I liked about this chapter: Mmmm, angst. No-one does pushing people away quite like the Doctor. Pompeii - ouch. Confrontations. "Jack asked you a question, Doctor. You don't get to ask us one before you answer it." Doctor babbling. Fake brightness. The light of excitement's back in Rose's eyes, and it's only now he's realising how much he's missed it. The Doctor cutting Jack out, every bit as transparent as his previous leather-jacketed self. Almost disconcerting to see someone played by John Barrowman not liking musicals. Jack taking the bullet meant for the Doctor. "It's called love." Doctor being speechless. Rose-with-stun-setting. Ending *grins* I thought the little guy might be evil. If the police man had had half a brain he'd have shouted that, instead of saying "it's none of your business" and trying to shoot innocent non-bystanders. Aubertide. Running. Uh oh. The very epitome of cliffhangerness, and I so love the suspense! Can't wait for more.
You think this was a cliffhanger? Good job I didn't give you that extra page and a bit that I could have added ;)
(Oh, and you may now have reason to add back in another element of your tally *sheepish grin*)
Yes, lots of pushing away by the Doctor, and pushing back by Rose and Jack. Wonder who'll win the push-of-war? ;) It is two against one, but the one's a lying-about-his-age 900+ Time Lord.
Yeah, Jack had to disconcert the Doctor with that It's called love bit - you think he enjoys it? I do ;)
And the police officer... I think he gets off on it really. Don't you? ;)
