Excellent, as usual! Glad the Doctor's back in his own head, but looks like complications are afoot. Also, kissing. Yeah. C'mon, Doc--you may not have 'em forever, but you've got 'em now.

Ooh, thank you! :) I'm glad you liked it. More complications? Well, you might say that. It's morphed again and I'm how halfway through chapter 5. Which will, I am confident, be the final chapter.

And, yes, he has them now...

Curiouser and curiouser. I really am itching to know more about these aliens.

Love Jack and Rose's determination. You portray them with such honest emotion; it's a perfect mixture of complexity and simple truths. It serves as such a contrast to the Doctor, who seems determined to mix truth with fear, pepper it with guilt, and create his own little brand of misery. This is particularly striking considering it was his faith in them, and their concern and love of him that brought him back. Silly Doctor. :)

Can't wait to see what happens next. :)

You'll definitely find out more about the aliens in chapter 4. And in chapter 5... yes, it's morphed again. :P

I'm so glad you like the way I'm writing Jack and Rose here. Yes, they love him, for who he is and for what he's done for them - he saved Jack from himself and he showed Rose a whole universe she didn't know was out there. But this is Nine, PTSDed and tortured to within an inch of his life. Hope it's working for you :)

So glad we haven't lost sight of the mystery here in the midst of all this talking of snogging (as there was not nearly enough of the actual doing of the snogging). *wink* But it's a damn cliffhanger! Gah!

Good stuff as always. Waiting impatiently for the next bit. You, of course, already knew this. *grin*

Oh, no, for once I'm focusing on an actual plot as well as character stuff ;) The aliens will have a starring role in the remainder of the story, trust me!

Sorry there wasn't enough actual snogging for you - but maybe next chapter will make up for that a little :) Will be posting that this evening, I hope, as long as my BR approves it.

Lovely chapter. I love love love that Rose was "forced" to kiss Jack to stay warm. It's a new twist on the "shag or die" clique (which, btw, would have been just as amusing had the Doctor voiced his thought *wink*). Stupid Doctor, way to be rational lol. I can't wait for the next chapter!

You know, when I began this story I was actually planning yet another variation on the 'shag or die' cliché: Rose having to shag Jack to prevent herself dying from exposure. But in the end I decided it wouldn't really work and I stuck to kissing as the warm-up exercise.

I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Next chapter coming a bit later.

Insightful Jack, determined Jack, It's good that you've made him more than a flirty tag a long. And the Doctor's sheer will, conviction in the fact that they would never give up on him.. *slightly faint* how oh so true. No No, not that damn bloody screwdriver. Yes, well, admitted that our lovely Captain is much less concerned with these things. I like the Jackie mention. Everyonne needs a good slap now and then!

And you are EVIL EVIL EVIL ***babbling in corner*** for making us wait???

Oh, it's such a waste of Jack to write him just as a 'flirty tag-along', and I'd never do that. There's so much more to him than that: he's brave to the point of foolhardy sometimes, fiercely loyal, funny and utterly dependable. He's like the Doctor, as Rose says, just with that flirty bit to him as well - and only focusing on his flirty side completely misses that Doctor-like side to him.

And that's the thing about both Jack and Rose, and it's clear from Boom Town onwards: they'd both die for the Doctor, if it was necessary. And, in fact, they both did, sort of. That's loyalty, right there :) Thank you!! Glad you're enjoying it.
