Heh, that's very similar to the sorts of things we get here within the States--particularly in the south versus everywhere else. I am especially fond of "That is a very brave proposal" and "With the greatest respect".

I have tried to take "quite" out of my vocabulary because it's one word that really means something different, but it's surprisingly hard. Because quite good really does mean "quite good." :D
According to my southern hubby it's a polite way of saying "you SOB, you're too stupid to pour piss out of a boot even with instructions printed on the heel.
Funny, I heard Mycroft say almost all of them as I read. I'm also wondering how many times you told me "just a few minor comments" in regards to a fic I wrote.....
