Oh dear. I'm afraid there's going to be a fair amount of hurt -- for all three of them -- before the comfort begins.

I'm not surprised that Jack wants to stay. Even if he doesn't want to have anything to do with the Doctor and Rose right now, this Universe holds fewer painful memories for him.

And, yes, in Jack's position who would want to go back? It's a chance to make a new start somewhere where no-one's ever heard of him. But, as the Doctor will point out, it's not that simple...

I'm so glad to see this updated! As mentioned upthread, the premise is killer, and I love the tough, competent Torchwood agent Rose has become.
