Wait, huh? Jack, this universe's Jack is an alien?

Sounds like it, doesn't it?

Oh, poor Jack. It's at least nice to know what's made him this way, though I wonder - I always thought Jack was human. Either way, it's nice to see him actually coming around to Rose. I'm loving this story. It's probably one of the most unique fics I've read so far in this fandom - I love the way you've switched up the Doctor and Jack (especially the "you're supposed to say sorry" line). I'm looking forward to more.

Well, we never really knew about Jack, did we? Maybe the Jack we knew was human, or perhaps he could be a mixture - a result of interplanetary interbreeding. All we do know is that he comes from somewhere called the Boeshane Peninsula, which could be anywhere :)

I'm really glad you're enjoying this! You'll find out more about Jack's history in the next chapter.

Oh, this just gets better and better, Wendy! There's always something new and different popping up, with twists on the 'typical' characterization we've grown to expect with Nine and Jack. And Jack isn't human? Oh, what a twist THAT is! It totally explains his dislike of Rose, but what could have been so different between his people and fifty-first century humans?

You have NO idea how happy I am with this story. But ... only ONE chapter left? Really? Just one?? Are you sure?

*Happy Hugs*

I'm thrilled that you're still enjoying this! This Jack... might not be fully human ;) All will be revealed in the next chapter, and it does indeed explain his reaction to Rose :(

But ... only ONE chapter left? Really? Just one?? Are you sure?

No, and I wasn't sure when I posted this chapter either ;) Put it this way, I'm now close to finishing chapter 6. Whether or not that will be the end of the story I don't yet know!

Thank you! :)

That's one hell of a punch line you've got there. Were Jack's people non-human, or perhaps mixed-breeds that 'pure' humans despised?

I like your Jack much more now that he's making a serious attempt to explain himself. Loved the part where Rose realized how she made Mickey feel out of place in the TARDIS. And Tirnanoige... LOL.

Let's say you've hit the nail on the head with one of your option there :)

And I'm glad that you like Jack more now. He's been through a lot, and while it's not Rose's fault that she happened to come on board and push all his buttons it's not really his either.

Ooh, I wondered if anyone would get Tírnanóige! Yay!

Oooh, now we have it! So it's like the Doctor with the Dalek in "Dalek." "Ugh, you want me to play nice with one of THOSE?"

That certainly explains Jack's visceral reaction to Rose. And you do a nice job portraying Rose here. Six years of Torchwood field work didn't squash her childish glee or caring nature.

That's it exactly: as you'll see Rose realise in the next chapter, to Jack she's like a Dalek :(

So glad you like Rose here too. She definitely would have changed as a result of six years of Torchwood, but there are still essential characteristics that would stay the same.

Thank you! :)
