All right, to be honest my first reaction was that he's far, far too young to play the Doctor. Also, he needs a haircut. Badly. Plus I can't see myself shipping him with Jack any more. After thinking about it for a couple of hours, I'll admit that I've never actually seen him in anything, so it's not at all fair to judge based on a few (admittedly awful) photographs and the 2-minute interview on the BBC website. Still...
...well, it feels a bit like casting Rupert Grint as James Bond! And I can't help imagining some other reactions:
Rose: You're the Doctor? Come back when you've grown up a bit!
Jack: I might be a slut, but I have some standards... unfortunately. Maybe when you can actually shave.
Donna: I'm not travelling with you, mate! People will think I'm your bloody mother!
Jackie: C'mere, you gorgeous - what? Can I have your dad instead?
Sarah-Jane: No, thanks, Doctor, one teenager in the house is quite enough!
