OT3 ficathon 2008: Call for Prompts!

By popular request, dark_aegis and I are delighted to launch the 2008 OT3 ficathon! We’ve decided to run with Variant 1, as explained in our recent poll, which means that authors who want to take part in the ficathon will all supply prompts which will then be posted for you all to choose from.
Here’s how it will work.
1. List two prompts as a reply to this post, listing (a) characters, (b) a brief scenario, (c) one thing you do NOT want in your fic. All posts will be screened.
Example:
Prompt 1: Nine, Jack and Rose get separated on an alien planet and one of them ends up as a sacrifice to the gods. Do not want: character death.
Prompt 2: Ten, Rose and Jack; post-Doomsday reunion in Pete’s World, with zeppelins, the Eighth Doctor and Mickey. Do not want: Duplicate Doctor.
2. Once sign-ups close, the organisers will post the prompts to be claimed, in the groups of two as given. The prompts will be listed anonymously.
3. In response to this second post, reply with the prompt number you wish to claim. (You will be expected to write one only of the two prompts). Prompt claim posts will be screened. You may not claim your own prompt, and you may not claim a prompt if you did not provide one. Assignments will work as follows:
- post to claim your prompt
- the organisers will reply to confirm that the prompt is yours, and it will be flagged on the master post as claimed. If we can’t reply without unscreening the post, we will PM you, so please have PM notification on
- you will be told who you are writing for at this point
- if your preferred prompt has already been claimed, the organisers will reply or PM you to let you know and ask you to pick another
Schedule:
· Prompt posting will run until midnight EST on November 8
· Prompts for claiming will be posted on November 9
· Prompt claiming will run until November 16
· Fics will be due on January 31 2009
· There will be a week’s grace from the due date, after which we will look for pinch-hitters for missing fics
Please remember:
· All fics must be a minimum of 1000 words
· All fics must contain the Doctor, Rose and Jack in a relationship where all three play an equal role, whether that relationship is friends, UST or lovers. No Doctor/Rose plus Jack
· No character-bashing of any kind
