Labor Day Weekend

Sep 06, 2006 22:03

well, I figure if I don't post now then I will be waiting until it's too late. Daly & I took a nice drive last weekend...all the way to San Francisco. Most of the drive was on the Pacific Coast Highway, sometimes it merged into the 101, but there were some absolutely gorgeous views! I would recommend it if you don't mind driving...especially the part between Morro Bay and Monterey. We had to spend a ridiculous amount on a few hotel stays, but it was Labor Day weekend...I'm surprised we didn't have to spend more. We toured Hearst Castle. I'm in love with his taste! Marble everywhere, lots of contrasting colors...bright whites, dark blues...and the balconies all overlooked rolling hills and crashing waves. It made me want to be a millionaire...billionaire...you know, rich. We finally got to San Francisco around 4pm on Sunday and got to enjoy a wonderfully clear view of the city across the bay, then headed back into gridlock.

It was not exactly a rushed weekend, but somehow I didn't feel as rested as I would have hoped. Luckily, work is no where near as stressful as my last [real] job. I've really been enjoying it...imagine, adults that assume you'll do your work without someone looking over your shoulder, not watching every single minute on the clock to see if you come in 2 minutes late, and...I'm not kidding...actually enjoy working with each other! I still can't believe how lucky Daly and I have been with our jobs. Oh, yeah, he got taken on permanently at Pacific Life, so we joined 24 Hour Fitness today. Because he is employed at Pacific Life we got a bit of a discount on the setup fees. So the next few days will be me adjusting to being active again....and then there's Vegas...Summer's bachelorette party. I'm not expecting to get any sleep anytime soon, and yes, I'm enjoying it! Hopefully I'll get back to post pictures soon...hope your weekends were all great.
