Well crap
Don't you just love computers???
I have been without one for the last two weeks. Mine went wonky one night in the middle of the night (started beeping, like when it came on), and so I shut it off. The only problem is - it never woke up again. Now - a new motherboard, dual chipset, and memory later, it still is fried. Or should I say, fried again.... DH hooked everything up, and went to plug it in to check it to see if it would boot - got a loud fizzing sound and nothing. Not good.
So - I am destined to spend my days sharing DH's system....
