She left me in stitches
My 8 yr. old ran into a tree while sledding. She now has 8 stitches right under her eye -- which is very puffy and swollen,some other facial scrapes and cuts, and corneal abrasions.
She was so afraid to get stitches, but she was SO brave. They had to inject the medicine that numbed her up, but she did such a good job. When Christopher got stitches on his forehead, they used a topical anesthetic, but they don't use that when the injury is so close to the eye.
She's worried that the kids at school will not want to be around her because her eye is swollen. I told her that no one who is her real friend will treat her that way. She's also worried that some kids will say mean things. Unfortunately, that might happen. After all, kids will be kids.
I'm not even sure she'll go to school tomorrow. I'll wait and see how she's feeling when she wakes up.
