Links Changing
Something new added, something old gone. I decided to get rid of "On Balance" because I decided this whole Mommy wars thing is in our heads. We are fighting a war against our own guilt and I no longer have time for that. Take, for example, yesterday's pre-school field trip to the pumpkin farm. One mom managed to let fly the following two statements, the first to another working mom and the second to me, within five minutes:
"Oh, I didn't realize you were [Natalie's] mom -- I only ever see your nanny."
"It's so nice to see Charlie happy. I usually only see him at 3 pm, when I'm picking up [Bobby], and Charlie is so sad because you're not there to get him."

I don't think she meant those remarks maliciously, but if you're a working mom with the typical working mom guilt, thems are fighting words. So I'm just letting go.
And speaking of nannies, the new link, Wowi Jacobspin, is our nanny's new blog for her trip to Costa Rica. The name of the blog is how Charlie says her name. She will be gone for a month or two and then back with us part-time while she looks for her dream (non-nanny) job.
