Well it's Thursday of dead week. That means next week is finals. Eeek! Then home for Christmas for an entire month. I'm looking forward to the whole month break from school. Not sure about the being gone from San Angelo for a whole month though.
Speaking of Christmas, it's crazy that no one says "Merry Christmas" anymore. It seems it's become taboo to say the "C" word. All you hear anymore is "Seasons Greetings!" or "Happy Holidays!" It seems the world has completely forgot what the "Season" and "Holidays" are all about. And that, my friends, is quite sad.
There's a reason to celebrate. There's a reason to have joy. There's a reason we can have peace and be happy. No one wants to aknowledge Christ anymore. But I want to do something insane for a minute. I want to remember the "reason for the season." Jesus, our Christ, Lord, Savior, took the form of a human and was born into this world. He became like us. He faced every struggle, every temptation, bad times and good times, and lived the perfect life. He offered himself as THE perfect sacrafice. He was beat, he was bruised, he was battered (anyone seen The Passion? I can only imagine it was worse than that!), and he took the cross. He died there, but he conqured death and rose to life. He became our link, our bridge, to forgiveness and eternal life with a loving Father. And all we must do to obtain that forgiveness and life is to accept him as our Lord and Savior, ask Him to cleanse us from our sins, and to let him take our lives. Man, I don't think you could get a better present ANY Christmas than that.
So to all of you, I want to say:
Merry Christmas!
