Lovely idea! I can easily say the craziest thing I've done is travelling around the world THREE TIMES to spend the weekend with fangirls. Also best thing I've ever done.

And I am SO GLAD you did!!

This randomly reminds me of a story I've been meaning to tell you. At the LA Con, there were some girls sitting behind us who were discussing the vehicles of the four Horseman in SPN. They were debating about Famine's, and ok, I was listening in. So, I offered to tweet the question. In about four seconds, you answered me via SuperWiki. I relayed the info and the girls were all...."yeah ok, cool. But it's a wiki, they could be wrong." I got very indignant and said, "MISSYJACK IS NEVER WRONG."

And thus I alienated strangers who were forced to sit behind me for two more days! YAY! But it was amusing. :)

Thank you for being my champion!!! actually there is one editor who has been doing most of the work on the angel and horseman stuff and he is a huge stickler for accuracy!

Love it! :D

How I got involved in fandom? I fell for Jared way back when he was in GG and followed him to SPN. Then I just needed fic, icons etc and fandom sucked me in. \o/

Craziest thing... erm... not particularly crazy I guess but I travel to England every year to attend at least one SPN con and am attempting to save up to go to a con in the States as well. Other fandom though (Linkin Park): I borrowed a crapload of money from my dad just to be able to fly to Paris to see LP live with a friend. Well worth it. :D

I think these are awesome things! Someone lower down mentioned that they've never regretted things they did do for fandom, only the ones they didn't do and...yeah. SO TRUE!

I got involved in SPN fandom through fanfic. At the time I was reading a lot of SG-1 fanfic and when the show started I started reading SPN fanfic on fanfiction.net. At that time we were innundated with MarySue fics and I wrote a wee fic in response. Someone commented that the fic had been rec'ced over at TWOP and I was like, "What's a twop?" [I was such a newbie, it wasn't even funny!] From there I realized I'd found my people and my love of fangirls grew exponentially.

My "craziest" thing wasn't all that crazy. After season one I got together with a group of girls in NYC - I'd never met "internet people" before, let alone share a hotel room with them in New York. That weekend was a blast and cemented my love of fangirls. Other "crazy" thing - the weekend Jared wasn't at Fangoria ran around asking people to pose with the "I am not Jared" sign. Good times!

That "not Jared" situation is STILL one of my favorite fandom things of all time. Also? That is where I met yooouuuu for the first time! *beams*

Well, I got into lotrips fandom first. After the first movie came out I was of course wanting to find out more about the actors and stumbled upon Bagend Inn (before realizing Ms. Allegro was CRAZY) and from there found a link to her fic...mostly Sam/Frodo stuff but there was on rps thing...that I spent a month almost clicking but then being like... BUT THEY ARE REAL PEOPLE!!! *flail* And then caved. And then she recced a few authors and the rest, as they say, is history. *g*

Then right after I finished my undergraduate degrees, I have living in a new place without a lot of friends and many of the people I followed on livejournal were talking about SPN and those SUPER CUTE and totally amazing boys and I saw some pictures and was like... they ARE kind of adorable. Maybe I could read some rps about them? And then it was the season premier and I was like... I guess I could Maybe check it out... I am SURE I will hate it, but...And the rest as they say... is history ( ... )

See! Sometimes is is good to take a chance on pop culture things! *grin*

But seriously, I always will be grateful to this fandom for many things, one of the most important being that it brought you into my life.

Got into Due South fandom nearly 15 (16?) years ago through using the computers provided at Uni to go to my first Due South meet up (convention?). Was heavily into Smallville fandom after that and drifted here (Spn) around about Season 3. Craziest thing I've done? Hmmmmm....I think I emailed (or rang? his contact) David Marciano (Ray Vecchio off Due South) from here in Perth, Western Australia to ask if he could make a call to one of my friends in the Due South fandom on her birthday at the party at my place. I didn't get any answer so didn't think anything would come of it. Lo and behold the phone rang at my place in the middle of the party and I answer and there's David on the phone introducing himself!! I got David Marciano to ring my friend from the US on her birthday! She just about had a heart attack when she took the call (I just smirked and told her there's some guy on the phone asking for her ( ... )

Oh my goodness, I am in AWE that the phone call-thing worked! That is AWESOME. (Now, I will not be happy with anything but Jared calling me in October. LOL)

LOVE that you made fandom into a lesson plan too. That ROCKS.
