Help and hope
Well, this morning I got a call from the JobCentre people. This morning? It's Saturday! Still, it was encouraging. I'd gone to a Back to Work talk and decided to try to get on a course, and the man told me I'd get a call in a week or so. I got it this morning. They want me to go in for a chat about getting onto a training course so I can increase my skillset. The thing is, people who go on these often end up being put on placements, and that's what I'm aiming for. With my new skills, I have an opportunity to get a job that is much better paid than the ones I've had before, so I'm really looking forward to this.
Heaven knows that after the year I've had, I deserve a break and hopefully this is it.
Meanwhile, I need to push the Golden Quill Awards a bit harder since nominations for the Awards are closing next Saturday. Meanwhile, the Archives of Excellence monthly writing challenges are going well, and I'm pleased to say I have three entries in already. I'm looking forward to getting more. I love making the winners' icons, and I love to see them being used, even if it's only for a week. See past and present winners here.
