I'm kind of stunned -- this is the first time in my voting life (ten years) that I've been happy about the results of an election.

Vermont elects a self-described socialist to the Senate. (narnee, I used your link because it has more content, but the local NBC affiliate is calling him a socialist too.)
SOUTH DAKOTANS DEFEAT ABORTION BAN!!!!!
This isn't directly election news, but I'm not convinced they aren't connected: Rumsfeld steps down.
The lack of bright red on this map warms my heart. They ought to add the green to their legend; I presume it represents states with independent Senators.
ETA: The New York Times says Montana's gone blue, giving 50 Democratic Senators and 49 Republicans. (Virginia is still undecided.)
