This is the part where I bitch and moan

I am not having a stellar day. Rather than clutter my Facebook timeline with vaguebooking, allow me to enumerate some of my misery here, where only the most dogged stalkers will read it.

1) I watched the first two episodes of Season 1 of Game of Thrones last night. I think it gave me nightmares.

2) I missed ballet last Saturday due to needing to sleep ten hours to rid myself of illness. Today I went to ballet, and in addition to the normal suckage of having missed a week and a half, there was a substitute teacher who clearly thought she was going easy on us, but instead was giving us unbelievably long and hard-to-remember combinations. As a result, I made more than my usual fool of myself.

3) In a bid to knuckle down and work on my latest translation (due mid-July; I am on page 17 of 301), I brought proper clothes to change into and my computer and French-English dictionary, so I could go have a nice lunch in a coffee shop I enjoy and work with less distraction than home, where the bathroom is dirty. Annoyance #1: I momentarily forgot which street the coffee shop was on, and got to make a strange tour of the sketchier/Yalier parts of New Haven.

4) Upon reaching the coffee shop, I noticed that their menu was different. Different as in, they sort of no longer have one. They're "focusing on coffee" now, which means gone are the lovely vegan sandwiches and pastries that initially made me like the place. Since I was already there, I tried to carry on. What was the soup of the day? Oh, that was on the board in error, they no longer have soup because it's summer. (May 2nd is summer to you? Okay...). I will have a bagel with cream cheese and a chai latte. I pay for these things. They then discover they have no chai. I get a regular tea instead and they give me a dollar back. So far I have exactly none of the food I came there for. Then I inquire as to which wifi is theirs. Normally they would have wifi, but of course today they're fighting with Frontier and have none. So I'm sitting there with not-a-lunch and no wifi. Since I brought my paper dictionary, I am able to do some translation, but there are things that require Googling. I basically finish the chapter I was working on and get out. So much for all afternoon at a coffee shop I enjoy. I will probably never go back there.

This is all on top of a very stressful situation at work and some other general malaise. I would like to be happy again, please. Maybe tomorrow?
