I just finished Revolutionary Girl Utena, and it's my new favorite anime ever. ^_______________^ Yes, it even beats Eva, and that takes some serious effort. The world needs more ambiguously bisexual, cross-dressing schoolgirl Christ figures with magic swords. (Of course, it's Japan, so she's more a bodhisattva figure, but hey.)

Alas for lack of Utena icons! My paid account also expired, or I'd start churning them out. :D Tom and I are Netflixing the movie, so soon we'll get to watch them all turn into cars. Yay!

The Christ figure thing is mostly the same as the bodhisattva thing--she saves Anthy from herself even though Anthy literally stabs her in the back. Pretty awesome. And of course it was undoubtedly intended as a bodhisattva thing rather than a Christ thing because it's Japan, but if the Buddhist channel can interpret Superman as a bodhisattva, I can interpret Utena as a Christ figure. ^_-
