Dear Taemin,
There's something that I need to say
But you'll never hear it anyway
When you're around, the words won't appear
So all I have to say, I'll say it here
It's hard for me to describe how I feel
I know people think "What's the big deal?
Just tell him you like him, you've confessed before."
I know I have, but this is so much more
Everyone seems to know but you
You really don't have the slightest clue
To you I'm your hyung, your member, your friend
And since you believe that, I've had to pretend
But Taemin, I love you, and it kills me inside
Since you don't return it, I have to hide
I've become a shadow, no longer a man
Because half of my life is clasped in your hand
And there's no way you'll ever let me go
How could you? You don't even know
Why can't I tell you? I've tried many times
But each time I failed, now I'm stuck with my rhymes
The pieces of my life never seem to fit
Sometimes I think it'll be easier to quit
To just disappear, and finally move on
For the pain has gone on for far too long
But I'd rather love you with this pain
Than to never see your face again
Oh Minnie, you're too young to know how you feel
If you told me you loved me, it couldn't be real
So what's the point of opening this door
You should live your life, free to explore
I'd just hold you back, you're too good for me
When I see you smile, it's plain to see
That you were born for greater things
I'm a poor prince, but Minnie, your a king
And a king deserves the world, you know it's true
And that's just something I can't give to you
So I'll keep pretending, playing my part
As the hyung, as your friend, with a broken heart
And it feels kind of foolish of me
Writing a poem that you'll never see
But it contains the richest treasure
