God, I missed award season! Can't remember the last award ceremony I watched live. I guess the West coasters forget they're on one of the earliest time zones and once the award airs, half the world is already asleep on a Sunday night. Finally, some sense to put it on a Saturday. Now, it's iime for my ramblings about last night's 16th annual SAG Awards. I would have written them live but I was too lazy to go all the way to my bedroom to get my notebook. The comfy chair was just too... comfy. But, worry not, I have written down everything that came to mind in an orange post-it so this is as good as live.
Starting with E!'s Live From the Red Carpet:
Tina Fey's shoes are awesome!!
Ok. Julianna Margulies doesn't know where her Golden Globe Award is. And she counts on her husband to have put it away somewhere. I loved her commenting about her award shelf on the house she RENTS and that her tenants are the ones who are actually enjoying itL.
Mariska Hargitay's dress is amazing! And her shoes... I want those shoes! Definetly one of my favorites tonight. I had already seen her walking by during someone else's interview... she looks HOT! Happy Birthday to her, by the way. If she wasn't competing against Juliana I would be rooting for her... imagine getting a SAG Award for your birthday??
Sandra Bullock has lost her husband in the middle of the stars. LOL. Apparently he was looking for Morgan Freeman... Hope they got their date night afterwards.
Glee cast interviews... gotta love Glee. And OMG how hot are those guys??? Now, Giuliana, "Gleehawk"? What the hell was that?? The interview with Cory was hilarious... the McDonalds's greeting... LOL... she talked faster than Lauren Graham on that one. Did anyone know Amber Riley auditioned for Idol?? How did they let her go? It would be fun to have her as guest judge. Not that I watch Idol... And apparently we can expect a JT guest appearence soon enough. And I want a copy of Schuester and Chace Crawford's glam cam picture from the Golden Globes.
Speaking of Glee, Christina Applegate said on the record that she's a GLEEK! And that she knows zip about that vampire-mania... I knew there was a reason I liked her. Great dress-back, by the way.
Did anyone else realize how serious people are walking in to the red carpet? Specially Anna Paquin. They only smile when there's a camera to their face.
Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger together? Whaaaat? He'll always be Pacey Witter for me.
First movie nominated for ensemble... great reminder that I still haven't watched Inglorious Basterds... damn!
Tina Fey's honesty about her husband's winnings with the 30 rock song... funny.
I just jumped from the chair! Another award for Glee! Not like we didn't already know... I loved the dress the girl who plays Quinn is wearing.
Juliana Margulies's parents sound so sweet! "They call me after every single episode!". They weren't proud about Snakes... LOL. But, then again, who would be?
Applause, applause. What the HELL happened to Nicole Kidman? She once was so pretty. Now she looks like a doll... not in a good way.
Christoph Waltz's speech. Beautiful. What kind of person remembers to thank the projectionists? That was BEAUTIFUL... that one will be remembered.
Love Felicity's dress. But she could've gotten herself a pair of glasses. Or not have present.
Drew Barrymore's speech. Can we even call that a speech? It was so funny. But poor thing, she couldn't say a thing, and then she started getting nervous about it. So sweet.
Life achievement award.... Betty White. "How far a girl as plain as that can go..."
The sadest part of the party: the actors who've passed. Natasha Richadson is dead??? WTF? When did that happen?? She's part of my childhood. I lost track how many times I watched "Parent Trap" when I was a kid. AND, Maid in Manhattan. Her characters are so memorable. Oh... Brittany Murphy, MJ, Patrick Swayze, Farrah Fawcet... sad, sad year.
Next to last award. Sandra Bullock! I simply adore her! Her speech is so lovely.. she loves her husband so much... that was sweet.
One last note, I forgot who was it, but someone mentioned they were sad the award was being televised so she couldn't use the words she wanted to describe the feeling of getting the Actor. LMAO on this one.
Enough for now. This post is too long as it is.
Toodels, B.
