another Warped Tour has come and gone. thankfully, it didn't get as hot as i thought it would be, but it was still pretty friggin hot. i'm wondering if the heat was the main reason for what, in my opinion was kinda a lousy turnout. don't get me wrong there were alot of people there, but i felt kind of sorry for some of the "baby warped bands". it must be a little frustrating to wait around in that heat and then end up playing in front of only a handful of people. seriously, some of the bands we saw played to only about 10-20 people! in a way it was kinda cool, cause it gave us the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of em. like "they dripped sweat on me" up close. a few of the bands we saw like this were:
* The Smashup
* Ill Scarlet
* Shira Girl
The Smashup were awesome. they put on a great show and were so thrilled we bought their cd (for $8.00 with bonus dvd!) they each one signed their pictures in the cd jacket and posed for pics! they were such nice guys and were really thrilled to be on warped tour. we found their merch tent later and they remembered us, so of course, we had to buy a t-shirt and again they seemed so grateful and happy to be there. the guitarist and the merch guy were also at the gate at the end of the day, on the way out, selling cd's and again they recognized us and thanked us again for coming out and for supporting them. really cool guys!
Ill Scarlet was really good too. they are from Canada and their music has a reggae flavor to it. very danceable. very enjoyable. they had a small turnout though, only about 20 people, but the crowd was very enthusiastic. there was this huge ass line for autographs for one of the bands,(we never found out which one) and the line was right next to the stage and the singer joked with the people waiting in line that they kinda had no choice but to listen to their set. but they seemed to enjoy it so it was all good.

other bands we enjoyed:
*The Bouncing Souls
*Autumn to Ashes
*Every Time I Die
*The Pink Spiders
*It Dies Today
*Underoath
*Senses Fail
and many others...
it was a long hot day, but we had a great time.

now it's countdown to MCR next month! i hope Gerard has dyed his hair back by then....
