Brief reviews

I've nearly finished catching up on the solo Avengers films. Just Iron Man left and then I can see Avengers Assemble! I'll probably have to wait until the DVD now though.

Thor
This was a decent enough film. At the beginning I found myself hating Thor and loving Loki. Once he'd been to Earth though I thought Thor was brilliant! I think it's the off-world part of him that I like. The way you can see he doesn't always fully understand what's going on. I still have a soft spot for Loki though!

Captain America
I loved this film so much!! Definitely my favourite of the Avengers films so far. I think it's because not only did I enjoy the film as a story, but I'm completely in love with Steve Rogers/Captain America, and I also really liked the supporting characters, especially Peggy, Howard and Dr. Erskine. This has shot up to be among my favourite films.

The Incredible Hulk
I wasn't sure whether I was going to watch this or not. A friend of mine who's a big fan of comic book films told me not to bother, and the actor who plays Hulk changed for the Avengers so I wasn't fully sure if it even counted as a solo Avengers film in the run up to the group one. It was on TV though, so I thought I may as well give it a go.
Basically it completely bored me. It felt like the whole film was spent with Bruce Banner running away, and I don't watch a film for the fight type scenes. The tone of this also felt completely different to Thor etc. The colouring was a lot darker, and there was no attempt at any jokes or anything.
Overall, I would go out of my way to see this. But I am glad I watched it purely for the completeness of watching them all.

And a couple of others:

Wanted:
This was on TV so thought I'd give it a go. I loved it!! The story line was brilliant and I loved James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie. I'd definitely recommend it if you enjoy this sort of film.

FAQ About Time Travel:
I'd never heard of this before, but I could rent it from iTunes for free with Orange and the trailer looked decent (plus Chris O'Dowd!) so thought it was worth a watch! I really enjoyed it. It was a quirky little British film with a bit of sci-fi and comedy. This deserves more publicity!
