chapter 13: completed

After another 4,000 words today I have completed Chapter 13. I think it's the longest chapter of the book spanning about twenty-or-so pages! That's quite a lot of writing. I'm sure it'll all get edited down nicely in the re-write process, though. I'm happy with how it came out. I like that everything wound up slowly and then exploded. The next chapter will follow on pretty much from where that one finished off, without a gap in the time. The next chapter will be slower. If Chapter 13 is the explosion then Chapter 14 will be the clean up after it. Then Chapter 15 will be the big showdown at the end! But I'm not thinking about that chapter just yet. I want to get 14 finished first.

So I'm going to go and write up a brief synopsis for Chapter 14, ready for work to begin tomorrow.
