I completed Chapter Six of "Olimpia Valley" today. I've been working steadily on it all week, every day writing about a thousand words more than the day before. I'm very pleased to see the back of this chapter, considering it took me about four weeks to complete! Next on the list is Christmas and New Years. A lot of that I'd like to lift from the original version of the book, which will mean a lot of extra work because I'll have to work out what I can salvage, how to make it work with this version of the story and then clean up the writing of whatever I do take. I'm hopeful for a good chapter, though. There'll see some changes happening, which is always very exciting.
In other news, I got my proofcopy of
Shadows today. This now means that in six-to-eight weeks it will be available on bookstore websites. I can't tell you how exciting it was to have a copy of my own book, in print, with the right cover (the previous one had the wrong cover). It'll be taking pride of place on the bookshelf downstairs. I only hope there'll be many more where that came from :)
