Warn for issues that need warning for!!

Apologies for lack of cut. As LJ has changed it's tools, I haven't yet worked out how to get the cut button to work. Any tips are gratefully received

Dear LJ writers. Loving relationships cannot be borne out of blackmail/ extortion/ sexual extortion. It is STOCKHOLM Syndrome. NOT LOVE. An attachment formed out of fear and preservation for one's life does not equal a genuine, loving relationship no matter how nice the captor/ blackmailer/ abuser is to them afterwards. Nor does it change the fact that the captor had the capacity to do that to their supposed 'love'. Therefore, when I click on a link to a story that is an AU, pg-13, is Jack/Ianto and has 'no warnings that I can think of', expecting to read a fluffy AU, I do not expect the first chapter to be about Jack blackmailing Ianto to have sex with him. Whether he does or not I don't know as I could barely make it to the end of the chapter without feeling nauseated but for goodness sake, label your fics properly!!! Jack's 'intensity' in that chapter was also not 'hot'. it was lecherous, manipulative and broke several laws. Any sex he did have with Ianto would be rape as, under most rape Acts, one of the conditions in which rape is rape is if permission is obtained due to the person being blackmailed/ believing something bad will happen etc etc. Nor is it cute. For me, cute is fluffy animals and babies and a normal, loving relationships where one partner does thoughtful things for the other because they love them for their personality as well as their body. 'Cute' is not one person being blackmailed into having sex with someone out of fear.

Therefore, if anything is to come of this rant it is to put warnings on your fic. I know everyon on my friend list does warn properly and I am very grateful for that, it is just a shame that those who don't don't see rants like these. It's also unfortunate that no one will comment on people's fic and tell them that, actually, this needs a warning out of fear they're being over sensitive or will offend the author. I'll admit that the reason I didn't comment on this person's fic and say this was for this very reason, but I am starting to think I probably should do so now.
