the casbah cafe
a few weeks ago my sister molly was visiting and we journeyed over to one of our very favorite restaurants and hookah bar (though we do not participate in the hookah - this probably makes us lame, but the food is just amazing and we really don't care!) we always get a feast at the casbah.......and we always polish off everything.
to start molly and bob shared an order of falafal...i'm not a fan but i had plenty of my own things to munch on:
i ordered a kabab and with it came with a choice of basmati rice or cous cous and 2 appetizers. i ordered tabbouleh and spinach pie and ate pretty much all of it. i shared a few bites of tabbouleh with bob but the rest i owned:
there is a buttery-ness to the dough that can not be beat!
for entrees....molly ordered chicken shawarma (which i must have ate atleast 1/3 of)....it came with a choice of a "dip" and salad...she chose hummus and greek:
here's my swordfish kabob with rice:
and bob's ramallah dish, which is basically seasoned rice with a bit of meat and a side of extremely delicious yogurt sauce (which i ate a ton of as well...they gave us pita bread too which is not pictured)
all in all this restaurant definitely ranks as one of our top five best eats of jacksonville....hands down!
