Well, thank you to whoever took care of my problem of telling tsenft!!! I woke up in the middle of the night and realized I had forgotten about reminding the people who volunteered to tell her!

Thank you so much for everything over the past four (almost five) years! Thank you for on that first day when you met me in your chat room encouraging me to start a LiveJournal, for encouraging me to write Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett and begin to form a professional network, and for informing me that there was, indeed, such a thing as studying the Internet. Thank you for providing a place to discuss ideas in your comments. Thank you for the references I looked up. Thank you for being a *real* media scholar, one who I could reach out and touch. Thank you for the Monthly Groups. Thank you for reaching out to me in a very concrete way this summer, when I needed it very much.
I want to say you are AMAZING. You make theory real. Many media scholars I know are afraid to go out there and actually engage with the media and the people who are using it. Not you! You became an inspiration to me because you actually DO something with the theory, you intervene in narratives of globalization and capital and sexuality personally. And you're one of the best ethnographers of the particular I know, whether you would claim that label or not.
I know you will KICK ASS at your dissertation defense today. I will be watching, maybe with friends, and totally cheering you on!
