You were one of the first people I "met" on livejournal, and in the blogosphere-at-large, and I'm so glad to have made your acquaintance early on in my lj-experience. I remember being amazed (and I still am, of course!) at the humor, insight, and honesty with which you approach your work, your participation in online communities, and your life (as reflected in your entries and your online monthly group projects). You've made comments (on my lj and others) that have changed my way of thinking about things (e.g., my diabetes, drag, and performance, among others) in important ways -- and I love that about getting to share some space with you + the lj folks I've met through you.
I'm so excited and happy for you, and know you will kick ass on the defense + celebrate well after.
