Fleur, the Fragrant Skunk

Mar 22, 2012 12:03

Decades of careful breeding have produced a new subspecies of skunk, the Skunkus smellum goodis, more commonly known as the Fragrant Skunk. Easily identified by its unusual fur colors, the Fragrant Skunk has been bred to produce a pleasant, almost perfume-like, odor rather than the potent unwelcome scent its native cousins in the wild produce. oh goodness! He's adorable! Love the unexpected colors! :o)

the pic is a little big for our small comm. ;o) But a masterful example of the art! I remember when you were just starting - not all that long ago - and look how far you've come! :o)

The colors came about because I don't like to crochet with black yarn. I'm also not fond of crocheting with white yarn. Both colors are hard on my eyes with regards to seeing the stitches. The friend who suggested I make a skunk said that I didn't have to make it in black & white, and I just ran with the idea from there.

Thank you for your comments especially the one about my progress.

I apologize for the size of the photo. I worried that it might be a little too big. Would you like me to resize it? Or put it behind an LJ cut?

I'm with you about the black and white yarn! i've sworn never to make another Hello Kitty, no matter how much I'm begged! ha ha

I love the idea of non-trad colors. I've been trying to convince my hub that not all pandas need to be black and white. heh heh. How about a nice turquoise and cream one? ;o)

As to photo size - I don't bother much about that usually but a really large one is a problem for some members, it seems. of course an lj cut would be simplest for you, but if you could put a smaller one up front AND keep the biggie behind a cut, that's my favorite way. :o) But it's up to you. Yes i do want to eat my cake and keep it too. heh heh. I do love to scan the posts and see all the cuties up front.. ;o)

I think a cream & turquoise panda would look wonderful! Of course, now, you realize that I will be expecting to see one from you in the coming future. ;)

Here. Eat some cake and keep it too. (You're one of the few people I've seen get that expression correct, by the way.) I resized the photo to 50% of its original size and posted that as a frontispiece to the entry and added an LJ cut to see the bigger photo. Wasn't any trouble at all.

Thanks so much for the resizing! It's just the way I like best! ;o)

Leave it to me to know the right way to talk about eating cake! Haha

As to a nice turquoise panda - if I can sneak that in for one of the gifts I need to make, you may very well see one sometime. Heh heh. Of course I'm horribly behind in posting my ami's. :o/ So dont hold your breath. I have to depend on you folks to keep this place cute! ;o)

You're welcome.

About the turquoise panda.... ah, c'mon. You know you wanna! Just do it. Shouldn't take you any time at all.
