Very picture (and commentary) heavy!
I used to *try* to knit, but never got the hang of it. Then I bought a "Knit your own sock monkey" kit from Target a couple years ago. It was awesome! This is Mikhail. I knitted him for my boyfriend.
He wanted it to have an eyepatch, so naturally, I gave him a reason to have one.
Then it was almost my friend's birthday. Then she called me to tell me she was pregnant! So I made a baby, too.
I was impressed with myself because I improvised a diaper with real safety pins, a baby carrier and a ridiculous little hat. But of course, the baby was yellow with a cream face, so it kind of looked like Homer Simpson. My friend ended up having a girl, but the monkey is still a boy named Homer.
You like those buggy knots of yarn for eyes? Eh? Eh?
Then I bought "Mr. Funky's Super Crochet Wonderful" and decided to teach myself to crochet. Ugh. That was hard. I don't know why, but I just couldn't comprehend it! Then one day, it just clicked! So I made this girl. It's sweet to hold her now, so floppy and loose. I was never proud of her because I ordered eyes online and they were too small, but I used them anyway. But looking at her now, I feel a fondness toward her. :^)
Then I had a lull in yarn work all together. Then I bought "Creepy Cute Crochet" because I saw a lot of possibilities for Christmas presents. Here they are, along with my kitten:
The teacup and saucer were improvised because I always saw them here on this community. The baby elephant was for my aunt, I just used the basic head and body pattern for ease.
My boyfriend wanted a Cthulu, so I made this the other day.
Then promptly made this Panda for my grandma the next day. The pattern is from "Amigurumi World..." for the Valentino and Valentine bear pattern.
And I finished this Tiger this morning.
Whew! I have more but I will leave it at that. It's my fault for not posting sooner, to prevent this bottleneck post. Thanks for looking! :^)
