How hard it is to make amigurumi using "homespun" yarn?  I've been using Red Heart yarn, but I think using "homespun" in some cases would look nicer.

Thanks!

If you can crochet normally with it, it is a nonissue.

A lot of people have trouble crocheting just normally with it, and I imagine going in a circle would be even more difficult for them.

I had trouble starting, the one time I tried to crochet with it, but I imagine once it gets going it's fine. This was a couple years ago, though - I don't knit with acrylic anymore, so I can't really say. :\ My mum used to crochet scarves with it just fine. Swatch it and find out!

It's a bit more challenging but you can do it. I normally use a bit bigger of a hook and the project turns out bigger. Just be careful because it's much easier to lose stitches in :)

I had to comment because I am crocheting a scarf with homespun as I read this, haha.

It does look nice, but yeah, you need a heftier needle, and it's a lot easier to make mistakes because it all kind of mushes together and the loops are less visibly obvious than if you use a smooth yarn.
