I haven't posted to this community in AGES, but this is just something I've been working on lately... it's a Toronto Maple Leaf. I just need to find a little hockey stick for him. <3
OMG THAT WOULD BE SO EFFING AWESOME! O______O! I was actually going to see if there would be any that would fit him when I go to Toronto next time! So you don't have to worry about it! BUT OMG, that would still be awesome!!! Let me know how much they are - and as long as they aren't stupidly expensive, it would be awesome to have for the time being! *woots*
I was thinking of adopting a sock pattern, but I think I might just try to get a tiny plastic or wooden one... since a sock-shaped knitted stick would be floppy anyways...
LOL!! Thanks! yeah, all my patterns are just... 'free hand.' I mean, I write down my own patterns, but yeah, I made it up as I went along, basically! <3
you are so very talented! did it just come naturally or did u learn to free hand. and if so are their any good web sites that u know of off the top of ur head that teach you freehand methods and such?
Hmmmmmmmm, it sort of just... came to me. Like, I drew out what I wanted to do, and then thought "If I want the foot to look like this, how would I increase/decrease stitches to make it look like that?" and it all sort of came out of that!
Hmmm... I don't really know of any sites that offer stuff like that... I would just say... I dunno. Experiment. A lot.
My goodness, this is awesome work. The expression, the different gloves, the skates, the jersey... There has got be a a stick out there!
If you can't find one, maybe you can cut one out from thin balsa wood that you find the model sections of craft stores, and paint it. There's also shrinky dink material (you'd have to test for how much it shrinks) that you color and it shrinks to a hard plastic-ky material. And there's colored clay that you can bake or airdry.
I think I might just go to the Air Canada Center and buy a tiny little souvenior hockey stick from the gift shop? Granted, hoping that it fits him okay!
I thought they were, I saw the gray line on the bottem of his feet which is why I didnt call them shoes or boots, but at the same time I didnt want to say skates if they wernt so I went with "booties" cause it sounds cute. So never fear, they really do look like skates :)
