I'm always looking for inspiration for new projects and I've been on a food bender lately. Elisabeth Doherty's cookie pattern is what did it for me, I think, and it all just took off from there. And, of course, I made another new doll. Check it all out under the cut.

Some of my newer projects! )

*claps* Hooray for fun projects! =)

The rabbit is sooo adorable, and I'm a little silly when it comes the cheezburger's, my OH doesn't understand! Great burger too, the colors are prefect! I keep looking for a good bun color when I'm out.

I wonder what pancakes with crushed oreos in them would taste like? Hurmmm...

yeah, it was hard finding the right bun colours! i bought three different browns before i settled on the right one. the outside portion of the buns is made with kind of an orangey-brown colour from the vanna white line of yarn. it was just about perfect, i think. the inner portions were made with one of the bernat satin yarns. all together i think it turned out pretty well. ;)

thanks for your comment!

i know! my daughter is two and it's impossible to keep them away from her. i'm hoping to sell them at a craft show in may and i'm REALLY hoping there's a market for the yarn food. like, hopefully they'll be bought by parents who don't want their kids playing with a bunch of plastic foods that might be covered in lead paint. ;)

That is a great idea!!!
Did you use free patterns or make these up or buy them??
If they were free online patterns, please do share the links!!
I'd LOVE to make some play food for my daughter too!
plastic food is so weird/gross!!

well, the bacon, eggs, pancakes, and ice cream were just patterns i made up on my own, pretty much as i went along. i think that's why i enjoyed making the bacon and eggs so much, actually... they're so wobbly that there's not really a set of rules to follow.

the cookies and burger, though, were from patterns in elisabeth doherty's Amigurumi Super Happy Crochet Cute book.

The rabbit is really cute, and I love all the food, especially the pancakes and eggs! And, I agree that green eggs and ham would be rad.

i made the ice cream in three parts. the scoop of ice cream was made with a rounded ball part with the fringe attached, then i made just a circle for the bottom and stuffed that and sewed the two pieces together. then i crocheted the cone part and stuffed and sewed that to the ice cream. it was kind of a lot of work but i think it turned out really well. i did a mint chocolate chip one, too. hehe.
