N00b help!
Hi all!! I'm new-ish here, and new to amigurumi. I have been crocheting since last April :).
I'm currently working on the octopus on the Lion Brand page, but I have a 3 month old and only seen to get a couple rows done before she needs something, heh.
Three questions:
1. Eyes... I did look up the eye tag and will peruse links, but other than online suppliers my question is this: I want to make toys for my baby, and I'd rather not use hard, choking hazard eyes ;). How do you make soft eyes? Do they sell anything like that??
I could not find eyes at my local Hancock Fabric or Michael's, so Octi has seed bead eyes, but they are so tiny! I still need to check Jo Ann's and Hobby Lobby...
2. Squids! Someone posted some adorable little squiddies and I was wondering if there are patterns out there. My usual haunts didn't turn up any patterns.
3. Books. I know most are fairly new, but what do you own? I prefer English, but would love to know about any cool books ;).
