[fanfic illustration] lover
this is an illustration for the beautifully written lover, a fic i really wanted to draw as soon as i started to read it, really. but it wasn't until the 2009 edition of xf_santa that i got round to it! (i was wisely assigned bravenewcentury who wanted an illustration of her stuff.)
merry x-mas, bravenewcentury! hope you like it as much as i liked your fic! WHICH I DID A LOT.
i had immeasurable fun doing this and i am really, really pleased with the outcome. even the ladybird was fun! i added it at the very end, on an impulse, because GOD DAYMN I REALLY LIKE LADYBIRDS*. of course, once it was drawn, it was goddamn problematic to place in the drawing, and the composition probably sucks even now after the 10000 tries. augh, whatever.
*and beetles in general. my last name contains the word for "beetle" in my language. i chose "beetle" for my sign name in sl class. coccinella septempunctata was the first latin scientifc name i memorized as a kid. (leptinotarsa decemlineata, the potato beetle, came sometime soon after that.) BEETLES! wooo!
ETA: a rl xphile friend i showed this to lol'd and said "is it the peugeot 207 ladybird?" i lol'd for 10 minutes straight. (you guys, there IS a ladybird in the fic, in case you're wondering. read it, i recommend it :) )
