*grumble, grumble*
Apologies in my recent lapse of activity... My computer seized, provided a 'blue screen of death' I'd never seen before, ever and proceeded to be irrecoverable. I reformatted and re-installed XP Pro. Out of the 200 G's available on the hard drive, 4 were rescued gently w/ a 250meg Zip drive. I've purchased external back-up gear to choke a horse and am very pleased to say it's up and humming beautifully.
That has left me will the past several days trying to piece my computer's life back together again. Travelling to the local libraries to hunt down the dozens upon dozens of CD's I'd ripped. Kicking myself for not copying all of the photos I'd taken w/ my digital camera...the only copies of them are floating around in Suicide Girls internet space. Luckily, I had copies of my own music as well as most of my poetry saved in one electronic form or another.
Dunno...as much as the experience serves as a kick in the pants, I'm at least pleased that I've taken the steps to insure it won't happen again. Plus, it only serves as good measure to re-double my efforts in hoarding. ;-)
