This is too hilarious. We're including in the exhibit a custom-made replica of ancient pottery and it's being sent to us from Arizona. The first artifact that arrived was in pieces (UPS, pronounced "oops, we dropped it again", we love you) so we asked our guy in Arizona to make and send us a new one and while he was at it, why didn't he just make two, in case something happens to the original while the exhibit goes gallavanting around North America. So that package arrives today and I open it up and dig through the foam and the bubble wrap and extra boxes and whatnot and come to the bowls, placed rim to rim, and I separate them. And smiling up at me from the middle of these two artifacts is Pikachu and his Pokemon pals. Not exactly your typical Native American pottery from the 2nd century, but the lesson remains: if you're sending fragile artifacts via UPS, you may as well put a child's rubber ball in between them for padding. At least that way it'll bounce when UPS drops it.
I wonder if they'll let us include Pikachu in the display.
