This article caught my eye because the report came from The University of Vienna. Do you ever feel like you get worse sleep when sleeping with someone else? Apparently if you are a male, you are getting worse sleep and are being made temporarily more stupid. What a concept! I also love how they add in the dream stuff at the end. Are you a man that feels like remembering dreams better? Just have more sex! Good stuff.

In other news, Kyle came to stay with me this weekend. We had quite a time going to two museums, experiencing the Austrian night scene, and catching up a little bit: something we hadn't really done in about two months now. Anyway, last night after hitting a Cuban dance club and an Irish Pub, we had the following conversation:

Kyle: You know that expression 'When it rains, it pours?'
Me: yeah...
Kyle: When you drink, you pour.

Not only do I really enjoy the way the play on words works out in this case, but I know that she's absolutely right. I suspect that this is not entirely my fault, but it is certainly within my control to change. The question is, do I want to change? I really don't feel like I actually drink to get drunk very often, and when I do is it such a bad thing to make sure that I really get drunk (incidentally, I didn't last night, which did not dampen my enjoyment of the evening a single bit)? I would say that it's not a bad thing, unless of course I end up drinking so much as to ruin my night. Obviously, though, that's never anyone's goal for the night.

Anyway, I was very glad to get to show Kyle around Vienna a little bit, and I am looking forward more than ever to her showing me around Prague in only five days (not least because I will be done with work and officially on vacation). I also intend to write part two of my lab experience, hopefully tomorrow. I have a ten minute presentation to the entire lab on Friday in which I must describe the work I've done in the lab, so this will be a good chance to go over some of that material again. Also, I keep meaning to write it up, but it really was quite a lot of work the first time, so I've been hesitant to start another entry like that. Anyway, for the sake of documentation (which according to Kyle, is the only requirement of art (so does that make me an artist?)) and hopefully for your enjoyment, I will in fact finish my description of the super-cool project in which I have been lucky enough to be involved over the past three weeks. Until later (as they translate 'see you later' from the german version to english).
