sobs I am sorry for this || ctrueguardianDecember 1 2011, 11:28:13 UTC
[ Though Lan Fan is very determined, this determination often comes with hot-headedness.
Case in point - getting in a tug of war with a moose over a sandwich. As the moose bites on it by sticking his head through the window, Lan Fan desperately clings onto it, hoping the moose won't take one of the few things she can actually eat in Mayfield. ]
don't apologize for beauty.welljustwatchmeDecember 1 2011, 22:09:12 UTC
[The moose is frustrated, because this is actually a rather normal way for him to get food from Canada's house at home. It's easier than leaving the door open for him. And whatever Lan Fan has in that sandwich smells delicious. He keeps tugging on the sandwich, snorting a little in irritation.]
o-oh thank you for your praise!!!trueguardianDecember 2 2011, 08:56:01 UTC
[ Lan Fan was fed up with the moose's persistence. Thanks to her closed door policy, she's getting cleaned out of an entire day to go without eating!!!!!!!!! Lan Fan, eventually fed up with the moose and tries gently tapping its nose, hoping it'll at least get off with a warning. She doesn't want to use lethal force on a moose, that's just sad. ]
I anticipate enjoying this thread. <3welljustwatchmeDecember 3 2011, 01:48:53 UTC
[The nose tap works, actually, and the moose steps back, snorting and shaking his head. If you had to translate his expression into something human, it would be a mix of disgust and confusion. He's decided he doesn't like this place. However, being just a little moose, there's not much he can do about it.]
;; I love this thread alreadytrueguardianDecember 3 2011, 04:46:15 UTC
[ Lan Fan, seeing the hurt moose back up and snort, begins to feel slightly guilty. Not to mention, it's not like she wants to eat moose touched meat anyways. She sighs and holds out the sandwich. ]
All right. You can have it. [ In the mean time, Lan Fan is able to use things one handedly (Since she lost a limb earlier) so she'll be making another sandwich for the moose. ]
[Aww. He may be a moose, but he's a moose with manners, so he'll nuzzle against Lan Fan's hand as a friendly thank-you before taking the sandwich. Then he'll plop himself down on her lawn and start eating it happily.]
((ooc: do you have any preference on whether Canada comes to collect him or he just hangs out in her yard for a bit and then leaves?))
also I am sorry I lack any happy icons so this will be the closest you'll get to a smile from her ):trueguardianDecember 3 2011, 07:40:55 UTC
[ Lan Fan isn't one for physical touching but she's more surprised the moose had the intellect to do that. As he lies himself down on the ground, Lan Fan finishes making the bunches of sandwiches and decides to head outside. She's never actually seen a moose, so this will be a fairly new adventure for her! She's certainly leaning towards an alien futuristic cow as its species but she'll never know.
She sits down right next to the Moose and offers him more food.
ooc: I'm fine with either or! Canada can always join the picnic if she wishes! I could use more CR for Lan Fan who's somewhat reclusive. ]
aww. the mental image is adorable enough.welljustwatchmeDecember 3 2011, 10:04:33 UTC
[The baby alien futuristic cow watches Lan Fan come out and come closer, looking timid for a moment, before he decides she is definitely a friend. And then he's finishing off his sandwich to go headbutt her playfully in the side.]
;w; aww thank you!trueguardianDecember 4 2011, 12:01:19 UTC
[ Lan Fan is quite surprised at how affectionate the moose is. She tries to gently push the moose away. She isn't very comfortable with physical touching and this situation is no different. She just glances at the moose before asking a question. ]
What are you doing?! Any reason for this behavior?! [ She isn't expecting an answer but if it talks, that's cool too! ]
[He looks back at her, confused for a moment, then sits down again a little bit away. Fine, Lan Fan, no cuddles for you. At least no one can say he didn't try.
About now, a young woman and her polar bear will be approaching from down the street, stopping to eye the picnic situation. Stopping in front of the house, Canada clears her throat, making the moose perk up and look back at her.]
[ Lan Fan continues to stare at the moose before nudging some more sandwiches to it and nodding. However, when she sees the young woman approach the moose, she turns in the direction and sees...
Well, a woman and what is that thing?! Lan Fan briefly stares at it as if it's just suddenly began to walk on its own two feet and twirl a cane while singing show tunes before turning her attention to Margaret, at which point Lan Fan's only thought is oh crap, people.
Her nervousness can be palpable to an extremely observant individual, but it otherwise hard to see through. ]
[ She gazes at the moose incredulously before gazing back at Canada. ] This moose is I've never seen one before. [ She'll dodge another glance at the moose before aiming a glance back at Canada. After getting over the initial curiosity that Canada owes her one (1) sandwich, she realizes that he's accusing her of trying to own or take a moose! ] I did not attempt to steal this animal. The moose showed up here to eat my sandwiches so I made some more to keep it from eating mine. [ That's all there is to it. It's not like she wanted some brief speechless company because she was starting to feel lonely yet didn't want to deal with all of the awkward that comes from other people. No, not at all. Of course, Lan Fan would never announce this publicly, so she exudes her usual strict, and collected persona. ]
Oh! Oh, no, I didn't mean it like you were stealing him. [Canada flails a little bit. She didn't mean to imply her moose had been stolen, just that she'd lost him and found him at someone else's house. These sorts of things happen, you know.] It's more like... when you go to pick up a child from a play-date, you know? He obviously likes you.
And sandwiches. I'm quite sorry if he was rude about it, and I'd gladly make it up to you.
My apologies for misunderstanding. [ Lan Fan skittishly looks around. She's just as nervous as Canada and it definitely shows. She didn't mean to make her uncomfortable, but, now they both seem to be uncomfortable. ] Playdate? [ It's pretty obvious she doesn't know what that word means.
However, at the mention that the moose likes her and the latter line, she just has a small, but slightly noticeable smile. ] It is all right. He was a nice visitor; there is no need to make it up to me. I don't think I've ever seen a moose before. However, I would like to see him again here and there. [ She looks down to the ground while she mentions this request. She's not really too socially forward about these types of things which is painstakingly clear. However, she does remember that it's sort of rude to request the pet and not the owner. After a brief pause, she adds a hastily made, excess condition. ] And you too, of course.
[Seeing the girl look more anxious actually helps Canada to get a grip on herself. One of them has to be good at socializing here, and she's probably the more qualified one, technically speaking. Unless Lan Fan is also nearly five hundred and supposed to be figuring out how to make international friends on her own.]
Oh, that can definitely be arranged! I'm sure he'll want to come to visit and, umm... well, we live over on Mitchell and you're welcome to drop by whenever. The more company, the better. Hey, if you come over for dinner, we'll be even, then.
