[Belgium somehow managed to avoid the cannibals on day two by hiding out in the basement. But she knew from day one that it wouldn't be long...that was when the air started to get to her. Around day two she started feeling weak and felt like she was going to faint if she dug for anymore supplies. Now she's just propped up against some boxes in the basement.]
[Canada's certainly starting to feel exhausted and weak herself, but a whole lot of determination to not let anyone else down is keeping her going, moving around the basement every so often to check on those she has with her in there. This time, she brings Belgium some water, sitting down beside her.]
I hope so...but even if it does...will I still...heh...never mind...asking if I'll still be...alive is probably a stupid thing to ask, huh? Besides...broer already gone. Isn't he...
[Canada swallows back her horrendous guilt at letting that happen. Hopefully her silence is confirmation enough, because she still can't bring herself to say it.]
Things work differently in Mayfield. Sometimes we die but then we come back... someone's told you that, right? They just like to mess with us. [She doesn't mention that she's not sure this is the case this time. If it was, Netherlands should be back with them. It's already been long enough. That's how it usually works.]
Yes. It... it happens. But it'll get better. Please take my word for that, Belgique. Things will be fine, we just need to soldier through another day or two.
[Canada holds a hand to her mouth to hide her half chuckle, half cough, as it occurs to her the only person Belgium could be talking about in that context.] Oh, right. I haven't heard that yet. Hope it's a good thing.
Ah. I guess that makes sense. [She swallows thickly, leaning back a bit more against the wall she's sitting in front of as she looks contemplatively at Belgium. It's something to focus on, at least. Something to maybe keep spirits up.] You remind me a lot of the Belgium I know from home, too. Probably more than a lot of others here.

Belgium? How are you doing?

Not too good.
Oh and thanks for the water, Canada. I needed it.
[She takes a sip of water, but only ends up spitting it back up a few seconds later, coughing.]

You're welcome.
It'll be okay, you know. Everything will go back to normal and we'll be fine.

I wonder if this is what Spain was talking about...about this place doing stuff to you...?

[Her mind starts to drift from the subject. She lets out a small, weak, giggle.]
You really...do...look like him...

Yeah...if you and the Canada...I know...stood next to each other you would look like siblings.

[Canada glances worriedly at Belgium, then reaches out to take the other nation's closest hand in both of hers, giving it a reassuring squeeze.]
