On her website, Wendy Roper (designer of Milou) writes: "You will have gathered by now that Milou is about quality not quantity. ... Each of her 'seasonal' collections will be small but special, ... It is a more traditional and rational idea of collecting ..."
Well....Good luck to me when it comes to a rational idea of collecting. I now look at every 16" dress or even dressed doll in terms of "how will that look on Milou?" Here are a few pics of Milou in somebody else's clothes.
Here she is in "Deluxe" for Gene. Milou has larger hips that Gene but is otherwise the same size. It's a very tight squeeze to get her into Gene clothes, but, as you see, it can be done.
Afternoon light through venetian blinds. Yowsa!
Meet Miss Milou, so stylish, in Daphne Dimples® "City Sophisticate". Granted this was on sale, but I actually bought a dressed doll just to get clothes for Milou! That is a first for me. I think I just met some Doll Addiction milestone, doing that. The really wonderful thing about this costume is, clearly, the hat. It looks like a
sea slug! A Spanish dancer specifically.
Tonner dresses fit more easily than Gene's. Milou's legs are a little longer than a Tonner 16" doll. The stockings are riding kind of low, but still look good in a photograph. I'll be on the look for more hats with an extreme spin for her. I also have a couple more outfits to show in a future post.
Happy Fourth of July everybody!
