17. The Girls Who Went Away: The Hidden History of Women Who Surrendered Children for Adoption in the Decades Before Roe v. Wade - Ann Fessler - 335 pages. Got this book a few years ago after reconnecting with my Birthmom. I figured it would be great to get some more information on her side as she was sent away to have me. Her situation was a bit different as her Mom went with her, but she did cross the state and stay in a small apartment above a liquor store for a few months before I was born. Gained a lot of insight from reading this book, and would recommend it to any adoptee to read.
