Another strange day...
Woke up to a horrible nightmare where I had been waiting in a parking lot for a tour bus to come pick me and my Dad up for some lengthy trip to Europe. For some reason I went back to my loft (ha!) to sit down and watch TV while we were waiting, and then when the bus pulled up below, I realized that I hadn't packed a single thing for this 5-6 week trip and also hadn't made arrangements for anyone to take care of my cat Snickers! I practically woke up hyperventilating!
Then I hit snooze 3 times and thus was running late. On my way out the door my neighbor called and asked if I had made lunch yet. Turned out he had bought a ton of lunchmeat that he thought expired Aug 28 but it was actually August 8, so he made me two sandwiches for lunch. Since I was running late and hadn't had breakfast either, I ended up with two meals!
Got to my carpool buddy's house to pick her up and was telling her the story of the sandwiches when I promptly scraped into her metal fence. She said there is a scratch, but I haven't worked up the gumption to see how bad it is. My poor beautiful, brand-new car!
This afternoon, carpool buddy and I went for a walk. We were about a block and a half from our office and I managed to do a faceplant on the ground! I fell in slow motion and managed to scrape up my palms and one calf a little bit. Scary, but I'm reasonably unharmed. My ankle didn't like the fact that I was on the edge of the road and it just collapsed when I went to put my foot down. No sprained ankle, no pain, it's freaky!
I'm planning on taking my roses home tonight and expect that there will be some kind of disaster with that too!
