69. Never Say Die - Tess Gerritsen - 285 pages. Set in Vietnam, the story begins with a daughter searching for her father who was lost during the war. Strange things start happening as she begins her search. She meets up with a stranger who helps her in her search. Someone is trying to kill her, but who?

70. Whistleblower - Tess Gerritsen - 266 pages. Thriller / romance with a research scientist and a movie makeup artist. They meet up on a dark & stormy night when she accidentally hits him with her car, and gets swept up into the mystery. The case eventually involves his college friends and some of her friends, and several twists and turns along the way... a real page-turner.

71. Slan - A.E. Van Vogt - 255 pages. One of the true classics of SF, that led the way for all the experimentation with the genre later. A story by this author was the basis of the Aliens movies! It's a story about differences, and the conflict that can engender.
