Turns out that the clicking could potentially be from the batteries running down on my cordless phones. The phone repair guy said that even if I have a regular/corded phone that once the cordless ones start dropping off, it affects all phones plugged in on the line.
So, I had to do some research to track down the model # of my Uniden phone and see what was out there for battery replacements. I found a few sites and had a couple of shopping carts open, when I found a much better deal. While I was checking up on that new deal, one of the other shopping carts entered itself out, and sent me an email saying my order had gone through. Two complications, one is that the shop only accepts PayPal, and I don't have enough cash in that account (transfers take 3-4 days). Two, is that the other shop had a cheaper price, so would have been a better deal overall.
I'm still waiting for a call from the Qwest repair guy, because when I described the beeping on the line, and the day when I had no dial tone and had to listen to folks jabbering in Spanish, he stated that those sounded like crossed wire problems and would be unrelated to a phone battery problem.
Let's just hope that between the new batteries (should arrive in a few days), and the phone repair dude, that it will all be fixed soonest!
