New Year's Plans
Was going to go to a party with a bunch of local CF's in Vancouver at vantuckycajun's house, but didn't manage to line up a ride. I worked out the transit schedule as a last resort tonight, and it would be about 3 hours on the bus one way, because none of the Tri-Met lines go up into eastern Vancouver. And since it would be the last bus run of the evening, I wouldn't have any way to get home. Since A has to work on Sunday, staying over wouldn't really be an option either... so I just sent my regrets to the listserve.
My brother Noah invited us down to his party in Corvallis, but there are even greater problems with that scenario... even if one of his friends who live in the Portland area could give me a ride down, they would probably be way too drunk to be a trustworthy ride home after the party, and the idea of being on that stretch of I-5 on New Years in a rainstorm isn't too appealing either.
Guess I'm just gonna be staying home and watching TV or DVD's. At least I've got plenty of wine, and the makings for mudslides, and I won't have to be out in the weather or dangerous traffic.
