And I even gave away an extra drink ticket... could have had four!
So, we had a white elephant gift exchange at our company Holiday party downstairs at Madison's on Fifth. It is one of those things where everyone gets a number and you get to choose a gift in that order. The second person can choose to take what the first person got, or open another gift. An item can be "stolen" twice, and when it reaches the third set of hands, it is locked, and nobody can take it again. I was number 15 in the order, and the first item I got was a $20(?) gift card to The Sharper Image. That got taken from me, and my second pick turned out to be a french coffee press and a bag of gourmet coffee. That got taken, and next I turned up with a Ketel One Cocktail kit with a bottle of booze, a glass, and a DVD on how to make martinis etcetera. Of course someone swiped that from me too. Next I opened a package of 10 $2 Keno Lottery Scratch Tickets. Several more people selected their gifts, and I thought I was safe with the Lottery Tix. When we got to the end, the first gal took my lottery tickets and ended up winning $10. Another guy who got a Non-Sequitur page a day calendar switched with me, as I had gotten the heated windshield scraper from the first gal.
All told, I went through 5 items before ending up with a sixth on trade.
Got another holiday party tonight, and our office is closing eraly, so I'm headed out soon! (4:00 PM PST).
