Day 14 - A song that no one would expect you to love

Make It Rain (Remix)”-Fat Joe feat. R. Kelly, T.I., Birdman, Lil Wayne, Ace Mac and Rick Ross (and DJ Khaled of course, because he is fucking EVERYWHERE.)

Back before winter break, my American Film II class was (supposedly) typing stuff in the computer lab, and one of the kids, DeAndre, started playing Top 40 music on his computer, and everybody started to sing along. I requested “Make It Rain” and said I could do the Lil Wayne verse. (I also requested “Soldier” and rapped that Lil Wayne verse too. Lol, wow, was I confident or what? How did that happen?) So I rapped for some of the kids and now my status as a Super Cool Person is cemented in DeAndre’s heart. He’s in my forum and he is always kind to me. But the point is, everyone was like, “Wtf, you rap?”
You can check out the video. (I know all the words, lol.) My best friend and I have spent many a night analyzing and laughing ourselves silly over this video. It is ridiculous. I don't even know. It amuses me to no end.

Day 15 - A song that describes you

“Hey Bulldog”-The Beatles

I chose this song to describe the main female protagonist in a story I'm writing (because I do write other stuff besides fics...fics are like delicious, guilty dessert), and I guess by proxy it describes me as well. I definitely identify with it. If someone asked me what kind of dog I was (I think only I would ask anybody that question, so there you go), I would say bulldog. Small, bullheaded, manic, depressed, fierce, cowardly, stubborn, cuddly, misunderstood. Of course, the song itself seems less about an actual dog and more about a person. The lines that most jump out at me are: “What makes you think you’re something special when you smile?” “Childlike, no one understands”, “You don’t know what it’s like to listen to your fears”, “If you’re lonely you can talk to me”, “You think you know me but you haven’t got a clue.”
My first encounter with the Beatles was in the movie "Yellow Submarine" when my mom rented it from the library and we watched it with the lights off and it gave everybody a huge headache, haha. I begged for the soundtrack and got it and listened to it nonstop. It's not a proper Beatles album, it's a compilation of songs from a bunch of different albums. I was about eight years old and I was listening to "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and that was the first time in my life I noticed vocal harmonies, as in, I could hear the different voices and the different parts blending together and I was like HOLY SHIT THAT'S CRAZY. Lol. <3 the Beatles... (:
